The music ministry at St. Mary Magdalene is a wonderful opportunity to thank God, through music.  We invite singers and instrumentalists to share their talents and become an integral part of our liturgies. 

Tradition Choir

The Traditional Choir sings at the Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass using traditional and contemporary styles to lead the congregation in prayerful song.

      Rehearsal takes place on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. (September through June) in the Church.

      Warm up before Sunday Mass is at 8:30 a.m. in the Church.

      Ability to read music is not necessary but helpful. 

      All singers and musicians are welcome to join!

Contemporary Choir

The contemporary choir sings at the Sunday evening 6:00 p.m. Mass.  They lead the congregation in prayerful and spirited contemporary music.

      Rehearsal takes place in the church on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 and one hour before the Sunday Mass.

      New singers and instrumentalists are most welcome.

 Resurrection Choir

This choir is made up of members of the Parish who donate their time to sing for funeral and memorial Masses held at St. Mary Magdalene Church.  This choir leads the congregation in singing.

      No rehearsals are required. 

 Children’s Choir

 Third through eighth graders make up the Children’s Choir. 

      Rehearsals are October through May on Thursday afternoons from 3:00 to 3:45 in the Church.

      Reading of music is not required.

      The choir performs at various liturgies during the school year.  They are also the principal choir on Christmas Eve at the 5:30 p.m. Mass, Good Friday Evening Service, Mother’s Day at the 9:00 a.m. Mass and join the Traditional Choir at the Ash Wednesday evening Mass.

 Children’s Handbell Ensemble

 Fourth through eighth graders make up this Ensemble.

      Rehearsal are October through May on Monday afternoons from 3:00 to 3:45 in the Church.  

      Reading music is not required.

      The ensemble performs at various liturgies during the school year and on Christmas Eve at the 5:30 p.m. mass, Mother’s Day at the 9:00 a.m. Mass and at Holy Thursday Evening Service.

Resurrection Chorale - This choir is comprised of those individuals who are available to lead the sung prayer and minister through music to loved ones at all parish funerals. This choir gathers 30 minutes before scheduled funerals to rehearse. Membership is open to all. St. Mary Magdalene Contemporary Choir - This group of singers and instrumentalists focus primarily on music in the contemporary style and provide the music for the 6:00pm Sunday Evening Mass. All who are interested in offering their musical talent are welcome to join. The choir rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. in the Church. Cantors Guild - Comprised of those individual both professional and amateur alike who provide musical leadership at all parish liturgies, including weddings and funerals. Requirements include a pleasant singing voice with leadership qualities, excellent music reading ability, willingness to prepare music on one's own and previous voice study. Cantors must also be highly dependable and members of the Te Deum Choir.
