The Church of St. Mary Magdalene is pleased to offer full-time Pastoral Counseling services to its parishioners & families. These services are offered in a confidential, one-on-one, couples or group environment by a licensed therapist.

Pastoral Counseling is appropriate for individuals, couples, children and families who are seeking support for a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, crisis, loss & bereavement, marital conflict & marital spirituality, life transitions, chronic illness, single parenthood, retirement, divorce/separation, career changes, parenting, interpersonal relationships and individual spirituality and growth.


Social Work Services are available to elderly, chronically ill or homebound parishioners as well as to those experiencing life transitions or crisis. Home and/or office visits are offered for evaluation, supportive counseling, information and referral to community resources as well as referral to the many support ministries offered through our parish.

Senior Citizen Outreach: If you or someone you know is a parish Senior and are chronically ill or homebound, please take advantage of one or more of the many support ministries offered through our parish.

Parish Book Club

Our next selection will be: Inspiring Progress—Religions’ Contributions to Sustainable Development by Gary T. Gardner. This book addresses how the world’s religions have a calling to build societies that are both environmentally sustainable and socially just. Meeting date TBA. All are welcome. Offered for parish bereavement ministry teams and for parish leadership looking to develop this ministry. Join with others who share your compassion to network, exchange information and review resources.


Ministry of Consolation

It is a goal of the Community of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene that no member should suffer the loss of a loved one in isolation. Toward this end, we are pleased to offer a variety of services to those who are experiencing loss:

· Bi-Annual Bereavement Support Groups
· Monthly “Drop-In” Support Group Sessions
· Individual Bereavement Counseling by a Licensed Therapist
· Routine Contact by Telephone and by Mail
· Regular Bulletin/Website Articles on Various Aspects of Grief & Loss
· Routine Mailings of Pertinent Articles and Upcoming Events Related to Grief & Loss
· Information & Referral to Community Services for the Bereaved.


Caregiver Support Group

Are you providing care or support to an elderly, ill or homebound friend or loved one? Are you interested in sharing your experiences and receiving support from other community members who are also caregivers? Are a professional caregiver?
